THE LET LISI COOK PHILOSOPHY
Try to avoid eating anything advertised on TV.
Try to avoid eating anything with unpronounceable ingredients.
Try to avoid eating anything Grandma wouldn’t recognize.
And whatever you are eating...
always enjoy!

As a huge fan of the Authentic Eating philosophy, I always use as much fresh, unprocessed ingredients as possible in the meals I prepare for you. My mother and grandmother were exceptional, home-style cooks. From them, I learned all about cooking a good meal and throwing a good party. While I develop my own recipes, I still read the recipes of classic chefs for inspiration.
Originally from Baltimore, MD and trained as a dancer, I traveled the USA and Europe for over 20 years. I eventually settled in Los Angeles where I became a TV Technical Director. (You may have seen my work on the national networks.) The TV business is seasonal, and while on hiatus from my network gigs, I began developing a catering company. My friends wanted me to come and cook for their parties, and I did...often pretending to be a guest while helping them to serve up a monster dinner. From the very beginning, this effort was a smash. Over time, I honed my skills at various restaurants, and eventually, a chef was born.
I relocated to Sarasota to escape the hectic pace of Los Angeles. I love of a glass of wine on the beach at sunset (you might be able to relate), my dog Hobbes, and most of all, my amazing daughter.

About You

Like most of us, you probably think about eating well. And like most of us, life gets in the way of making a plan for change, and good intentions slip away. I get it. I've lived it. Having authentic, delicious food is wonderful, but it's just not in everyone's bag of tricks. That's one reason I'm happy to lend a hand.
A few thoughts for feeling better through food. Eat every 3 hours. So you're eating at least 5 times a day. As your main meal, have 4 ounces of lean protein, along with 2 servings of vegetables with a complex carb plus a healthy fat. For a snack, have a serving each of fruit and protein . One of the meals can be a protein shake. And drink plenty of water every day. (I aim for a gallon.) And don't forget: exercise and plenty of sleep.
